Foster Care Program

HRR is pleased to offer a foster care program that places pets in temporary homes until they are ready for adoption. Fostering programs save thousands of lives every year throughout the country. The foster program is for pets that are sick, injured, in need of socialization skills and/or are too young for adoption. The program is available for only select pets current held at HRR.

How does it work?

New foster parents are always welcome to the team! HRR relies heavily on these individuals and their expertise to help animals that would not otherwise thrive at the shelter. Here is how you can become a foster parent:

What animals are available for foster?

Once you have been approved as a foster you will be added to our foster email list. As animals come into our care that may require foster you will receive an email and/or call reaching out to potential fosters to see who can help. For animals that are currently in our care but do no yet have fosters or rescues you can click the link below.
